So....I am to assume from the above information that the placard on the lower section of my fuel selector saying "switch to single tank operation immediately upon reaching 5000 ft" is in error? I have a '54 170B. Not too worried, but some day I'm going to be refinishing the selector plate, and would like to know if I can leave off the placard????

All the required placards are listed in the 170 TDCS. Any placard regarding single tank operation above 5K is not one of them.

As far as I know (not an A&P) the 170B's have the fuel vent in the center the 172 has it in the left wing. I wanted to buy a nice CNC mechined fuel valve plate but the guy in Washington who makes them only make them with the 5000 foot deal on them.
