There is a complete guide to Owner Maintenance on the COPA (Canadian Owners and Pilots Association) web page. You would need to be a COPA member to view it. I have a PDF file on my computer that I could post for all - if I knew how to post! Anyway, as an AME and 170 owner it's no concern of mine but I see owner maintenance as a one way street.

When making a posting on this forum; at the bottom of the page are two tabs (Options) and (Upload attachment).
Click Upload Attachment
then click the "browse" button in that window to find your file...then click "Add the file"

I'm of similar mind. If you're going to go thru the trouble of changing a motor; change it to the best motor you can possible afford...or just buy the airplane with that motor.
Before going thru the work of an engine swap for 15 or 20 more horsepower, I'd explore every possible propeller to include the Aeromatic prop. Even at $5,500 for that propeller, its cheaper than an engine swap.

Ditto for myself; except I'll replace the one way street with a box canyonas an AME and 170 owner it's no concern of mine but I see owner maintenance as a one way street

I think you may need to be a 170 Association Member (different than a registered forum user) to get that feature.
It's worth every penny to join tho.
