Yes John, I consider myself to be very lucky. The airplane was put into its current condition by its previous owner, a local AME and vintage airplane lover, who continues to perform its maintenance. The 'look' of the current spinner took me awhile to get used to -- I liked the old skull cap look -- but this new one came as part of an O-300-D installation that was in place 2 years before I purchased the airplane. After a few months, however, the new look started to look 'just right'.
Have a great summer.
After a long unsuccessful attempt at converting my 170A and hoping for some follow through from DelAir for the STC and installation kit - which may Never occur - I bought all the parts and pieces for a beautiful converted 170B with all the bells and whistles - fully assembled and ready for action!!
Should have just done this all along like everyone suggested.....

A good ide in any case and something I have been meaning to do anyway. I will purchase a hose for the fire extinguisher that Amerex sells seperatly.

50th Anniversary of Flight Model. Winner-Best Original 170B, 100th Anniversary of Flight Convention. An originality nut (mostly) for the right reasons.
New PMA8000BTi audio panel and two new radios. Just finishing up the wiring harness. I plan on installing it while I have the interior out so I can run all the wire and rear headset jacks.
My A&P just ordered a brand-spanking new (complete) set of Airform baffles and a new tailwheel spring assembly. All proactive to keep out of trouble. Install date mid-January.
Edit (1/19/2018): just received some progress photos from the A&P doing the install work. Note "before" and "after" ...
