The needed bolt is almost surely an SAE thread. Find a bolt with enough threads and shank to do the job and have a "T" handle welded to the top.

Do a search under tee head thumb screw or wing head thumb screw.

As I recall that is what I did. You may even find something just like it in the Hillman Hardware section of your hardware store.

This looks familiar and is used with a cap screw also available at the hardware store.

You should have this STC to use the SAF-T-STOP. Search "Florence" and "Aero Technologies" and you'll come up with a phone # of 586-781-4760. I'll bet he might be able to help you find the part you're looking for.

Is there such at thing as a stupid question on this forum. If so I'm probably the guy that is going to ask it.

So to get my free seat stop from Cessna, do I just ring them up and say I need my free seat stop?

Also had pictures of these from another plane I looked at. Not sure if either of these are the freebies.

Edit.....
Sorry guys I failed to read the other two pages of posts before posting my thread. Maybe my question got answered. I'll try to do better from here on out.

Justin, those are not the freebie.

You need to call a Cessna single engine maintenance facility and say "I'd like to have a seat stop installed per SEB07-5 Rev. 4 and the work must be done under that SEB by December 31, 2013. And then make sure they plan to do it for FREE as the SEB says.

Just read the doc and they say it's Mandatory in the next 200 hours or 12 months.
I thought only ADs were mandatory.

Cessna can say what they want but only ADs are mandatory while flying Part 91.

So, I'll file this under the "Really Good Idea to take care of" vs Mandatory category

I am still in the process of rebuilding my '55 C170B and would like to get the Cessna Safety Stop equipment to be installed later this spring when we put the floors and rails in. Is it possible to get the parts kit from Cessna and have my A&P install it?

Mandatory if you do commercial in your aircraft. Do you flight instruct in it? It is mandatory to comply with Service Bulletins.

No commercial operations here but it's good to know when these SBs apply.

John, I think the only way to get the parts free is if Cessna installs them for you.
Else you can buy the kit from Cessna, not sure of cost.
