Camgard is just another way to suck in desparate pilots who are convinced that the manufacturers don't have a clue about what their engines really need. It is also a way for A&P mechanics to make some extra money by sucking in their unknowing customers. Camgaurd, MMO, STP. Bardahl, etc., etc., etc.: They are all in the same family of sucker bait.
Find me a really BIG user of reciprocating engines, such as the railroads or BIG trucking lines, and see what they use.

One of my friends had a Grumman Tiger that had a really bad sticking valve problem. He bacame a real expert at pulling valves out of a bottom spark plug hole for cleaning and reaming purposes. Along came Camgard and all his sticking valve problems were solved, right up to the time he got his next stuck valve. It is emotionally upsetting to see a grown man weeping.

That's because he should have been using MMO for the sticking valve. Wrong snake oil.blueldr wrote:One of my friends had a Grumman Tiger that had a really bad sticking valve problem. Grumman Tigers have Lycoming engines....with entirely different valve problems. The best thing to do with those is fill them with MMO and sink them in the lake for swim-platform anchors.
(OK guys, lighten up...I'm only joking... I've only had four Lycomings try to kill me, as opposed to one Continental which ran rough for a few minutes due to valve issues.)
