Before you start shimming the gear box, remove your gear and have it dimensionally checked to determine if the gear legs are bent. If they are straight, then shim to level before you install the P-Ponk mod.

I guess my concern is if you shim and then install the Pponk and then later, for some reason, are required to replace your gear and not need shims or require more shims - you can't move the Pponk installation. I thought maybe they would have you install it with shims if you needed them or not so you had the latitude to move the shims around (say from under to over the gear).
