Heroes Among Us

Last night at the Texas Christmas Party, I found out our own Buddy McGown fought in Europe during WWII. He had a picture of himself and two other young soldiers sitting on the engine cowl of Herman Goering's personal Junkers Tri-motor transport after they captured it at Salzburg, Austria in 1945. Buddy said it had a red velour interior!

Buddy will be turning 88 years old in a few days and we all wish him a happy birthday and many more.

I think it would be a good idea if we recognize all of our veterans of any age who belong to the club. I know there are many veterans in the club and pictures are worth a thousand words so lets see a lot of pictures and any stories worth telling!

Blueldr, you out there? We all know how bashful you are, but how 'bout another one of your stories and some pictures to get this kicked off?

p.s. Tell us the stories now, you can always post the pictures later.

And, thank all of you veterans for your service!
