Seat rebuilds

I had my seats rebuilt and reapolstered at Sport Aircraft Seats in Wasilla, AK and he did a great job at a fare price. He does leather and fabric and will make sure the seats are airworthy. He works with some of the local airlines and does a lot of seats for them, as well as private aircraft. He calls them Zero Downtime seats. here is a link to a video showing how easy they are to install and take apart.

I've been looking at them for as an option.
Could you post photos of the seats?
How much did they cost?

Looks great.

Are those the original seats that you recovered? I don't recognize the single adjustment (height?) frames.

Just to help clarify, I believe that those are the original seats in bigrenna's Cessna 180 not in a Cessna 170.

Yep, knew that.

I have a fully articulating seat in the 170 out of a 70's something 172. And the lower part of seat frame is a big heavy duty wide cast aluminum base, that runs the full length between the rollers. That wide base causes a clearance issue with the inboard seat belt bracket. Just looking for a possible solution to my problem, since I'll be redoing to seats also in the near future.

Just turn the inboard seat belt bracket around 180 degrees, put the belt fitting on the inboard side away from the seat, and put the bolt head toward the seat. Problem solved.

Richard,

Yeah,that sounds easy enough doesn't it? :D

We've tried every combination possible and nothing is quite perfect but, with a little prodding, a little bending, we've come to a somewhat tolerable solution.

It'll be dealt with completely at annual in a few months.

Appreciate the thought though.

It worked on both my 170 and 180, can't imagine why it doesn't work on your's.

I dunno! Possibly different seat frames, maybe?

Also had the exact same problem with this particular seat in my '59 172.
