Does anyone know a source for the black nylon plug on the top of the brake reservoir? I found mine in pretty poor shape and needed a needle nose to remove it.
Thanks! Mike

Good call, should have guessed. It's amazing how many trips I have made to ACE over the course of my restoration....the selection of aircraft grade parts and hardware they have is incredible

Mine are plastic and look like they came from ACE but I am almost sure they have a hole/breather drilled in them

Yes, it needs to have a breather hole.

Actually the black ones are shipping plugs.
the hole is a #60 drill.

Found this recommendation on the 120/140 site: AN913-1d with a hole drilled from the bottom up to mate with the safety wire hole.

I use a plastic 1/8" npt x 1/8" hose barb fitting which is actually for vacuum service and can be purchased from auto supply stores.
It can then double as a brake bleeder by slipping a clear vinyl hose over it and running the other end of the hose into a bottle. Pump brake fluid up from the brake caliper bleeder using a pump oil can and clear vinyl hose until fluid is seen in the hose off the master cylinder. Just make sure all air is purged from pump and clear tubing before connecting to bleeder fitting. Brakes are bled and reservoir filled at the same time. Leave barb fitting in place instead of plug.

Richard, that's a beautiful solution.
( Now all you need to do is slip a fabric "sock" over the barb to prevent insect ingress. )
