Does anyone know how to mount a ARC IN-1049AC in the panel without cutting that huge "stop sign" in the panel? If I enlarge an instrument hole in my panel to that size I'm afraid I won't have any border left and will loose the strength of the panel. Thanks!

Don't cut the panel at all. Drill four holes to accept the mounting frame and install long screws.

I sure wish that I had an ARC IN-1049AC in my airplane. What in hell is it? (But everybody should have one!)

It's an obsolete VHF (Very High Frequency) Omnirange Bearing Selector and Course Deviation Indicator, bluElder.
