Greetings, just an FYI for 170 owners with the Lycoming O-340 engines of 170 HP. We just received a field approval for the MT
MTV15C/195/58 propeller (2 blade) on our 170B. This propeller has no AD's and gets the operator/owner around the nasty/expensive AD on the blade clamps that plagues the Hartzell prop. This new prop really performs. They are available
through Flight Resource LLC just tell them that park rapids aviation sent you (N4599C)

If I remember correctly, the Doyn conversion to the Lycoming O-340 was a rather unusual conversion in view of the very limited number of O-340 engines available. They were kind of a rare bird as far as OEM equipment was concerned. Do tyou know if this propeller is also useable on the Lycoming O-360 engine?
There are a good many more C-170s using that engine.

Looks like MT already has an STC for the 170 with a Lyco 360 motor.

Does anyone know if the MT prop can be used on the AVCON O-360A1A conversions. The AVCON STC has the hartzell listed and no others but the Flight Resource MT STC lists all O-360's as being approved for the MT. The MT would no doubt be a much better Prop especially considering the AD issues on the Hartzell.

I guess a better question would be if an STC lists a specific component that eventually becomes unsupportable or unattainable, is the STC now invalid? Thanks..

The STC is still valid....but the installation must conform to the original instructions.
