Re: C-175 wings on Barnstormers
He sent me photos of them. Both have spar damage.
One needs replaced from last outer rib to wingtip. (Not terrible)
Other one is buckled at the flap and has a lot of wrinkles .
Does not include flaps or ailerons.
For a grand, they look very repairable but I have no place to do the repairs nor do I know someone to repair them for me or what that might cost.

David Ross,
I have seen the work done on wings , etc., by the fellow down in Alabama that advertises in TAP. His work is very impressive and his prices very fair.

A cheep way to salvage the "Long Range" tank components and install in your wings. They are the exact same structure. (See IPC for 172/175)
Could be done while on the plane.

Putting 175 tanks into 170 wings will cost about $4.5K or more if you pay someone to do it.

I got a written bid from a pretty reliable and trustworthy craftsman. (I own a pair of NOS 175 tanks for the day when I quit being "mostly nuts" and install an IO-360.)minton wrote:WOW George, that seems pretty high.
