painting the ailerons

can someone tell me if the ailerons must be balanced after they are painted and where can I find the numbers to use

Yes they must be. use the data in the Cessna 100 service manual.

SNL86-44 will give you the data for the 170 (and others). 100-series manual won't help with model-specific balance information. See thread http://www.cessna170.org/forums/viewtop ... f=28&t=573

When you see the + & - allowed, it is close enough.
