Securing Door panels with snaps

In leu of the United Carr fasteners that are hard to come by:

Has anyone ever thought of using upholstery snaps to secure the door panels?
The two piece ones have a strong rivet attachment (like the baggage compartment liner) and the other piece could be attached to the door with a tinnerman.
They'd be under the upholstery and be invisible.

You could also use them on the front panels along the door jamb.

The "button head" snaps similar to what was used on the false inst. panel cover might also be used. They are available from Cessna distributors such as Air Power in Arlington, TX for about $1.50 ea., PN: S1898-2
