Floor wear plates

The carpet in my trusty 170 is really showing its age, and I would like to install a couple wear plates just aft of the rudder pedals, which would be on top of the existing carpet, to help out with this and also let my feet slide perfectly on that surface for uncanny rudder control. Which seems to escape me after around 11 years of trying...

Thoughts appreciated!

I have them installed in mine. I believe they were original equipment, but I'm not certain. I would be real easy to make them if you were so inclined. I have considered making new ones for mine since they are pretty scratched up.

I have seen them made out of stainless steel sheet metal with screws on each corner and have the edges bent slightly down to keep shoes from snagging the edges.

That's what I have and can recommend it.
