Are there gages moderate in cost available for a simple airplane?

I've had a 3 1/8" one in my tool chest for about 20 year. You're welcome to it for the cost of shipping. Looks like the seal under the glass has shrunk.

Have you made a determination whether it is the thermocouple or the gage that has failed?
There are a number of relatively inexpensive instruments and thermocouples available but you must have a compatable pair that are designed to work with each other,
I don't believe I've ever seen a standard CHT set up for a C-170. I'm quite sure they're all an after market piece of equipment and could be of any manufacture.

That's the same gauge as originally installed by Cessna per the build-sheet in my '53 model.
