Converting from airbox to pressure cowl

Post by Guest »

I have a 48 ragwing that I am in the process of installing a new C145 on. My new engine has the baffling for a pressure cowl (it is off of a 53) I would like to use the new baffling as it is in much better shape than the airbox baffling. I would like to know what it takes to use the new baffling with my original cowling. Has anybody done this, and if so, what kind of paperwork is required to keep the FAA happy?

Thanks,

Kevin

Your mechanic should visit with the local FSDO inspector to gain "pre-consent" and discuss the FSDO requirements to modify the airplane. I imagine a field approval will be agreed to.
