Has anyone used these tailwheel tires? I was about ready to buy a new Aero Classic tire and tube but happened to look for cheaper alternatives and found these. I have always gone for the Aero Classics in the past but wouldn't mind saving a few bucks. The AZUSA costs about 16 for the tire and tube vs about 55 for the Aero Classic.
Thoughts?

I bought one and have it on the plane now. I am very cheap.
Honestly it looks like it should be on a wheelbarrow that comes free with a McDonalds milkshake.
I am buying an Aero Classic and will keep the Azusa as a spare.

I have been using one for about a month with no problem. The aero lasted less than a year and tore away from the interior webbing. So much for Chinese rubber. The Azusa is made in Vietnam and appears to be real rubber.

A blown tailwheel can really ruin your day. Depending on when and where it decides to let go, it could even ruin your airplane. For parts like this I'm usually more interested in quality than price. Although one is 3x cheaper, we aren't talking a big amount of money overall. I would buy the better tire. (Note: The "better tire" may in fact be the Azusa. No clue. Just stating a philosophy.)

DEM, Totally agree about not cutting corners with critical parts, but everything I have heard and experienced with the Aero Classics hasn't been that great. I have had two tailwheel failures in the last year on the 170. The tailwheel on my 120 has lasted for almost 8 years and is still going strong. I think I will give it a go and report back how it works out. For 15 bucks I could put a new one on every annual.

well I have been using a tire and tube from Habor freight and it's been nearly 3 years and approx 380 hrs . It's been landing on mostly non paved runways but the tread is nearly worn through so next 100 hrly a new one will go on. The secret to keep any tire is correct inflation pressure . why people land and take off on under inflated tires is beyond me . Air is so cheap.

I've only used McCreary tailwheel tires for 14 years and never had a problem with the tire. (Inner tubes are a different matter, however. Buy the best you can find.)

I replaced my Azusa with an AeroClassic and feel much more confident. I prefer the profile - wider, flatter - and it seems to be much heavier construction. I will keep the other as a spare.
