I use Aeroshell W100 and just used the last of my supply when I changed the oil last week. I got a bargain on the last two cases ($3.67/qt) but now I am getting shell shock when I check on current prices. We only have one supplier in Middle TN who wants $9.28/qt incl tx. Spruce is $78.75/cs, but shipping adds another $16.88 per cs. ($7.97/qt) Just wondering what others that use this product are paying. Some local have suggested going to Phillips multi grade or single grade, but I am not really interested in changing brands. A local supplier has discontinued carrying Aeroshell as they claim it has an expiration date and they were getting stuck with out of date oil. My last oil was purchased in 2012. Didn't know it "went bad"

I wiuld offer to buy the out of date oil if it were offered a a reasonably reduced price. I have used oil of unknown expiration date most of my life and I don't remember ever having any problems. As a matter of fact, up until now i had never heard of an expiration date on any kind of lubricating oil for any kind of engine.

A few years ago I canvassed the troops at my airport and came up with enough orders to get a significant price break on a minimum of twenty cases from the local jobber. He was willing to allow any kind of automotive or aviation oil in case quantities to be in the order and even provided free delivery to the aitport.

I don't know if oil expires, but Aeroshell is now printing an expiration date on the boxes. I would imagine this is a liability issue in case someone put 6 quarts of 30 year old 20w50 in his worn out past TBO engine, got drunk, took off VFR into IMC, ran into a mountain, and decided it was the oil's fault.

It worked out for me because I was able to get a couple cases of mineral oil to break in my engine for nothing as it was about to "expire" and the local shop didn't have an upcoming use for it.

The Wexford County Airport which is the FBO here in Cadillac gets their oil from the local NAPA store in the next town over. I don't know if it is a stock product for them or not but I might be worth your asking a local store.

Costco here in Alaska sells Aeroshell. I don't know current price but it sure has not gone down 60% like crude oil prices have in the past 6 months.

Richard I remember when Joe Harris found that Sam's in Grand Prairie, as well as in a few other Metroplex Sam's, carried Aeroshell W100 cheaper than anywhere else Unfortunately after a year or so they stopped handling it.

Sams Club here in Folsom,CA, also used to handle Aero Shell at a very favorable price but they apparently dropped it too. I guess it was a "too slow" mover.
