Hi all,
I am an instructor in the aircraft maintenance course at Fanshawe Collage, London, Ontario. We have a 172 that we want the students to go from wheels to floats. I am looking for dimensions for the spreader bar that goes between the eye bolts that we will use during the lifting process.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hugh

My experience with that type of spreader bar is limited to the one we used on the Noorduyn Norseman. It was the width to provide a straight UP pull on the lifting rings with a heighth of about 1.75 of the width and the same length dinentions between the fore and aft rings. One of our guys did the math on the center of longitudinal gravity to locate the required lifting center of the fixture.
