Tom I think what may be happening here is that some shops might use the FAA form 8130-3,...while others use their OWN version of a "form" 8130-3, ...if you know what I mean.
The one I referenced in my previous comments was in accompaniement with my KLN88 which I purchased used, then sent to Honeywell for software update and battery replacement. It came back with an FAA Form 8130-3 which made the statements I alluded to.
While Item 12, Status, states only "Repaired", ...Item 13, Remarks, actually states: "Repaired, and Tested per 06-05690-001. Certified that the work specified in item 12/13 was carried out in accordance with JAR 145 and with respect to that work the aircraft component is considered ready for release to service under JAA Acceptance Certificate Number JAA.4140." It is not some sort of "yellow tag" or someones generic 8130,...it is an official Form 8130-3 with FAA revision date of "(11-93) Computer Generated" statement. It has an item 19 that is subtitled "Return to Service in Accordance with FAR43.9" which approves it for return to service. It has fields completed from item 1 thu item 23, and specifies the work performed, references a W.O., etc. It does have an item 9, Eligibility, in which it is stated "TBV by Installer" (To be verified by Installer as eligible for this airplane. Stapled to the form is a copy of the WO, the green repairable tag, and the shipping list....all the things one would want...and which might be unavailable off of Ebay, etc., unless one demanded it from the seller. This sort of documentation is what I am suggesting folks be aware of and insist upon if purchasing a part which has airworthiness implications.

I am ready to mount my O/H prop. What is the torque spec for the bolts? This is the undamped 8-bolt prop/flange.

According to the !00 series 62 and prior service manual page 14-3:

"Prior to serial 46755 (172), torque propeller bolts to 250 lb in. (Eight smaller bolts, no dowel pins),"

"Serials 46755 and on (172) and serials 55001 thru 17557002 (175), torque propeler bolts to 55-60 lb ft (Six larger bolts, two dowel pins)."

So it appears if you have a eight bolt prop and flange the torque is 250 lb in or 20.8 lb ft. and if you have a newer 0-300 like George with the six bolt flange and prop then the torgue is 55-60 lb ft.
CAUTION - My forum posts may be worth what you paid for them!
