Hi everyone. I am looking for one of the little metal clamps that hold the original sun visors. Pilot side. Does anyone know where I would be able to get one?

The 170 IPC doesn't list this bracket as a separate unit; it's part of the sun visor assembly. However the '56-62 172 IPC does show it in fig. 52. It's p/n 0713011-12.
KRN shows eight of them in stock.

The screw that attaches it here is an AN507-1032R14. (This is different than the 170 installation which is shown on fig. 101).

Glad to help! Before you order you might take a look at
this page. Interspersed between a conversation about Rosen sun visors I've included some notes on my confusion over how the original sun visors were mounted. Also, I found that p/n 0711013-12 was used in C-172's at least through 1986 so there is a good chance that you would find one at any salvage yard. Interestingly
Texas Air Salvage shows a picture of one they have for sale and it is similar to mine -- a two hole mount. If your carry through spar has two nutplates on the front face this will fit there. If you only have one nut plate on the bottom of the carry though spar then discard the two-hole fitting and attach the sun visor as shown in the C-170B IPC.

You might let them know that while the top "adel clamp" shaped part looks like it is made from gold it is actually brass.

Faeth Aircraft (916) 368-1832 has one as pictured in the IPC (one hole) for $35 -- still expensive but cheaper than KRN's. It's on their desk waiting for you if you want it.
