To the Membership: Looking to see what other folks use out there for the hardware on the exhaust clamps on the O-300 exhaust system. I have seen several things being done out there, the two most prevalent, all stainless steel bolts, washer and nuts and the other is NAS bolts in place of the SS bolts, any insight, advice etc. would be greatly appreciated on what folks have experienced as working for the best longevity and best security......I used all SS hardware when I redid all my hardware last time, but as we all know SS is brittle and not really made to take a lot of shear forces.....I just did an exhaust gasket change, pipe cleanup, etc today on a close friend of mines bird and it had a combo of both types of hardware all SS on the left side and NAS bolts with SS hardware on the right

Stainless will be a lot easier to remove when the time comes to remove them, others may have to be cut off. I just had my complete exhaust system redone by AWI and took the SS option for a few more bucks.

When I redid mine last spring even though it was stainless, it was old as crap and I had to cut half of it off with a die grinder, but some of it was mixed regular AN hardware along witt stainless......your right it does last much longer
