Yeah something doesn't add up. Great catch guys. I'll call them this week and get to the bottom of it. I was talking to the AI I'm working with and we were wondering if they replaced the 8 prop bolt bushings on the flange and had a typo on the parts list. That's the only other thing that has a quality of 8. I'll let you know what I find out. Merry Christmas!

Yep. There should only be Two for the complete assy.
<edit> Perhaps it's a typo (
and price mistake due to the typo), maybe the secy meant 530868, plate, crankshaft damper counterweight pin. There are 8 of those.
I think George has your answer..........

I got in touch with Aircraft Specialties and they caught the mistake on the invoice. They are going to refund the difference.
Thanks everyone for the help with that.
I received my accessory case and oil sump today from DivCo. Still waiting on the case which is on the UPS truck.
You can see here a little bit of corrosion on the bottom of the oil sump.

I did some cleaning and polishing on the exhaust parts today. A little buffing and polishing and they are looking pretty good.
Before and after.

I used oven cleaner to get the grime off of the covers. It worked pretty good. The pipes and clamps I cleaned with oven cleaner and then bead blasted them. That is why they have a dull finish. Then I polished them out on a buffing wheel. I did not bead blast the covers. Nice thing about stainless is it buffs out like a mirror (usually).

I agree. We have some templates made out of cardboard for the cylinder and accessory holes. I guess aluminum would last longer.
Here is a picture of my O320 that was painted Lycoming gray. The alodined case along with the new hardware really make it look good.

I'm not sure if you already mentioned this, but what shade of silver/gray are you planning on using for the Conti?
Yeah, tell us!

Well, the color is Continental Gold but I know that doesn't mean much since I've seen several shades of it.
Here are the last two motors we did before mine to give you an idea of the color. Linda will be painting mine the same color today or tomorrow. The cylinders will be black Millennium's.

Your not! I really appreciate them as well. I'm also envious if his arrangement with his experienced engine overhauler friend. I'd love to find someone like that in my neck of the woods to help him out and learn from.

I think that Super Eagle would look good on my 172TD
It would be surprising what 85+ more horses & a cs prop would do for Ole Pokey
