I am thinking about buying a good used engine- 145 or 0300. Does anyone know of one for sale?
Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave, there was an August copy of Trade-A-Plane in the lobby of the Hillsborro Int'l(ha) airport yesterday. Under engines it listed an ad for a place that had several c145's and 300's, all with varying time since overhaul. There were single ads too that looked like individuals selling. There is a gentleman, Bobby Osburne, west of Ft Worth that has a good reputation that sells engines.

I could see there was a buidling with a lobby at Hillsboro. But I was going way too fast to be able to notice a Trade-A-Plane in there, much less read the individual ads. Thanks for posting what you had sufficent time to read, Joe!

That's clever George, and paradoxical! And, speedier than most of your responses!

What are you getting that old slow B of yours this Christmas? Anti-gravity counter weights, celerity motor for your flaps, an accurate airspeed indicator, maybe a faster paint job?

Joe,

Perhaps George is going to get a "Correct Runway Indicator" for N146YS for Christmas  . It will probably have plenty of time to "fix" on the correct runway since the plane is soo slow  Merry Christmas.

Harold

P.S.

George,

I still have not found a list of the planes in our group but I am still looking.
Hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year :D .

Harold

HA! Sounds like there's a story there? You would think that a slow airplane could easily line up on the right runway! Maybe George was lined up correctly on final, but by the time he got there, the earth's rotation threw him off. Merry Christmas to you too Harold. :)

Horald,
Followed your $100 Hamburger trail to McPherson's in Heber Springs. The owner told me he will always be happy to pick anyone up and take them the 1/4 mile to the restaraunt. The owner is my wife's cousin!
Happy Holidays!

 Everybody in AR is related!

Dave, you and your family would enjoy checking out Devils Den State Park north of Ft Smith. A girlfriend and I rode the motorcyle up there one hot July day. Was enjoying the cool air coming out of the cave when a group of spelunkers came. We followed them a ways in to the cave, enough turns and far enough that there was absolutely NO light after the spelunkers went on and their headlamps dissapeared. We were standing in a small room enjoying the cool air when two girls following a guy approached from the entrance. The guy had a Bic lighter in each hand and they were inching their way along. They had already been spooked by some bats flying over their heads and the lighters really provided no light for them, but it did allow us to watch them coming towards us bunched up together for protection. When they got right in front of us, I breathed hard enough so he could feel my breath on his face. The Bics allowed me to see his eyes bug out and by then he was shaking so hard that the Bics went out. The girls didn't know what he knew - something was right in front of them, it was taller than them, and it was very close, and they were pushing forward while he was trying to back up. It seemed like the right time for me to do my best impression of a bear, so I did. Well, they ran around in that small room for a long time and never could find the way out of it, screaming the whole time. My girlfriend recognized their screams and after a while said "Mary? Linda?" They quit screaming and said "Judy?" They were all related!

That reminds me of a popular defense plea in Arkansas: "Your honor,I didn't know that girl was my cousin!" (Another perenial favorite: "Your honor,I was just helping that sheep over the fence!")...........
