Scott oil temperature gage in C170B 0 300 cont eng. Stopped working.

I want to purchase new unit. Dial to read in degrees.

What unit should I purchase?

Is it a straight forward install?

You could always send it for repair to Keystone Instruments.

Or: Scott and Rochester have traditionally been the gauges for the later B models. I have the Rochester unit...but I swapped out the face/dial from the old one to the new one to retain the look and markings.

I don't know why Rochester changed their dial-faces: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/i ... kkey=66615

I believe if I were to do it again I'd select THIS one: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/i ... cfer=11462

Yes, it says it's not faa "approved". So what. It's an ordinary automotive gauge just like the originals were. Advisory Circular 23-27 provides the basis for using an automotive gauge in this position.
