Horizontal Tail Attach

I fitted the horizontal tail today and noticed a 1/8” gap at the front spar to bulkhead. I have seen shims called up in the IPC and was surprised that none were present.
My questions are:
1. Should there be shims fitted.
2. Are they a part or do I make them myself.
Thanks in advance.
Kevin

The IPC for 170-B shows them in Fig 14, Items 3 and 4. They are illustrated to be small, squares of PN: 0430010-1 being .20 and and PN: 0430010-2 being.30 stock. Make your own, would be my thought but I'm sure Cessna will be happy to sell you some.

You’ll want to fit things carefully here. Use clay putty to measure gap with H/S fitted with rear bolts installed and vertical stab fitted with bolts. Remove components and carefully measure gap

Reminds me of a time long ago when rebuilding engines and using Plastigauge to check bearing clearances. Not sure if that would work in this application or not.
