Hey guys trying to figure a couple things out with my Cessna 170A.

I've currently purchased a O-360 replacement to the Continental 145. I'm in search of an engine mount for the O-360 and came across a newly overhauled mount that came off a Cessna 172 RS. I'm trying to figure out if this engine mount will work. The Engine mount part number is 0551017-1. The engine mount was used on an IO-360-L2A.

Any help or further insight would be greatly appreciated.

Anthony

I’m can’t help you with the mount question, but I’m curious where you found your O-360.

I'm reasonably sure that 172 RS mount won't work because most aircraft built since the early 60s, the fire walls where not flat but stepped. What your looking for is not a very commonly found item.

Which model 0-360, would be another question. Going Fixed Pitch or constant speed ?

Just a note for anyone who may be considering a Lycoming conversion, there is a kit for sale on the Anchorage "C" list site. It doesn't say which STC it is for but does appear to be pretty complete, less engine and prop. Does have an engine mount according to the ad.

Apologies for the late reply. I had the engine made from an engine builder out of Chandler Arizona.
