Ok I know this is not aviation related but it’s something I need to know . At the convention in deeming in New Mexico we all went down to the pink shop in Mexico for lunch. Part of the lunch was a dish of “black beans but they were all mashed up . So to clear up a argument at home what was the name of that dish. “please do tell me it was black beans”.
That convention was so much fun ,we aussies really enjoyed New Mexico and Texas. Thank you to the organisers.

I stayed in Columbus to view the museum artifacts and did not eat that lunch but I’m going to guess it was “refried beans” made with black beans.

Go to an International Food Store

Look for Brand name GOYA Refried Black Beans.

Tasteful intense flavor, high protein - You can dress it up 100 ways.

Keep two (2) Cans in airplane as emergency food - along with those huge Hershey Dark chocolate bars.

Sturdy Marching boots and emergency Food. Survive.

Stay Alive

Enjoy

Don’t forget the nylons, prophylactics, and the .45!

(According to my crazy, old, co-pilot, Mike McGrath, the pockets of his leather bomber jacket was always stocked with chocolate-bars, nylons, prophylactics and his .45 auto.)

Every self respecting Texan loves a plate of good ole TEX-MEX with refried beans. That's refried pinto beans mind you, not some hotsy totsy black beans

Yes the Refried BLACK Beans became a hotsy totsie item through Martha Stewart just after she got out of prison.

Competing against the Pinto Beans.

Black beans are a Cuban thing. Pinto beans are Mexican. If a Mexican gives you a black bean.... you are about to be lined up before a firing squad and SHOT! ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mier_expedition )

(Don’t know how David got back out of Mexico alive.... But knowing him and his stories... this one oughta be published in The 170 News!)

Simply amazing.

I am thinking about "emergency" food for downed GA pilots and GA Horn post Mexican history Black Bean episode.
G A knows some stuff.

May switch to Pinto beans.

DON’T DO IT! Pinto beans take ALL DAY to cook! And they are impossible to eat if they haven’t softened properly.

Stick with the large jar of Skippy Peanut Butter. Everybody likes it, has great nutritional value, and the shelf life is almost as good as Twinkies.
