170 Assn Members Aircraft

Just returned yesterday from a week out west. Saw members' John Hart's '54 170 tied down at West Yellowstone Airport (didn't have my directory to know it was a members plane at the time). Also met member Bill and Elaine Boggess (and son) at Johnson Creek, ID. Nice folks and a nice '52 170 with a 180 Lyc. I've read that Johnson Creek is one of the nicest back country strips (I agree), but that approach is something else. Smiley Creek, although higher elevation is SO Much easier. Sulphur Creek sure has a good breakfast! We had 5 planes (even 1 '57 Bonanza) at most strips excluding Johnson Creek. No I didn't take Ole Pokey although one aircraft was an O-300D powered 172. I flew with a friend in his 300 hp 180. Great trip!
