Prop STCs

Investigating the 8042/3 propeller idea. Any feedback as to which STC may be preferred and why? I understand Kenmore has one and Wick Air has another. Airplane has the original C-145 engine. Also, seems like some folks end up with an 8042 and others with an 8043, is there really much noticeable difference?

Thanks!

If you are going to go for an 80" prop, then go 80/40 or 80/42. I haven't heard of anyone running an 80/43. You are looking for max performance, a 43" prop is a compromise and starts to negate the reason and $$ of the new props potential.

Thanks Jughead.

I was just wondering in case I found one on the used market somewhere. If I go ahead with the plan and order one, I don't see a reason to go with the 43. I certainly didn't buy a 170 to go fast.

I'm also running an 8043..

I got the STC from Wick Air, it was a tad cheaper than Kenmore and they were way more friendly. When I called Kenmore, it felt like I was bothering them.

I purchased my prop from Mike at Tiffin Aire in Ohio, cheapest place I could find.

Mine was a Kenmore STC, happened before I got the plane though...
