This might be a shot in the dark.. Anyone have any real world numbers or experience for shipping a connex (with aircraft inside) either domestically or internationally?
Do you think you could fit (2) 170's in a 40' container? Maybe a high cube?

The relevance of those videos cannot be understated....extremely helpful. Now, if i could just find out how much he paid to ship them...
Re: Shipping a 170
I’ve used two forklifts with wood pallets to remove an aircraft off a flatbed. Parked at the rear at bed height, aircraft was rolled off the truck , mains on the pallets, truck moved forward, then forklifts lowered. Probably not advisable to use the engine hoist point to lift the entire aircraft but whatever.
Vertical if you are in Alaska, then as I understand it, your shipping ($) against the flow. Most goods are shipped by truck to Alaska and often backhaul empty. So that’s just an example of the possible “conditions” that affect shipping costs. Only you know the specifics of the of your project, so without the broad details, I’m guessing $ 2000.
That’s what I paid for one shipment Alaska to Vancouver BC

Thanks Jim. I'm in Seattle currently. I should just start getting quotes. Since this is a major hub, hopefully it would be more reasonable.
