El Reno, F&M, Tempest Oil Filter Adaptor

Post by lowNslow »

I ran across an article on the El Reno, F&M, Tempest Oil Filter Adaptor from the NTSB about loss of oil resulting in engine failure on adaptors with the fiber gaskets. I then found this document from Stratus Tools Technologies (manufacture or the adaptors) that tells you to replace the fiber gasket with a copper gasket which these units originally used when they first came out. This is an update to a previous document they came out with in December 2019 which just required that you inspect the fiber gasket.
