Door latch

One of the springs on the passenger side door latch is broken. I have ordered replacement springs from Yingling and they should be here is a few days. I was wondering if this is the kind of repair I can do as the owner/operator of the plane or am I going to need to shell out money to my local mechanic?
Thanks;

Dave: If you are at all mechanically inclined, then tackle the job yourself.
I rebuilt both latches with new springs a few years back. There is an section in the 170 association service related articles manual (page 3-9) about fixing the latch, and this was the source I used. You do need pop rivets and a gun; cherry-max rivets would be better.
It's not in the owner maintenance area to legally fix, but it's amazing how long these those things can last. My fuel selector has never leaked in 52 years!
