The silicone rubber vent valve can be found by googleing "umbrella valve." A lifetime supply of those can be obtained for a very reasonable sum with a minimum of searching. Installation is trivial.

Falco offers a good suggestion. I found them on Amazon I think…I’ll try to locate a link again. I believe the discussion was at :

The fuel cap base-gasket:
The ones sold for Cessna Caps at Spruce (PN Part# 06-00987) measure: 2-3/16" OD x 1-1/2" ID x 1/8" thickness, cost about $15.

The ones I found useful for caps, oil-fill caps, and gascolators are: Spruce Part# 05-01059 and measure 1-1/2" ID, 2-1/4" OD, 1/8" Thick, cost about $3. I buy extras to keep on-hand. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/ ... lange3.php

OK….here are what the “umbrella valves” look like…. I believe I got these https://www.amazon.com/Quick-Fuel-Techn ... 18&sr=8-19

Here’s pic of the ones I have in my parts-box, also known as “Holley 26-41” valves, and as 23-2 valves for Holley carburetors:

Thanks for all your information. by chance does anyone know if they make the metal part on the cap that locks it to the filter lid it’s wear you hook up the retaining chain to. Thanks again
