I'm perusing my engine logbook for an engine (new to my airframe) and it includes STC SA762GL and SE693GL

My question is, does the STC SE693GL apply to my engine C-145-2? When I search for this particular STC it shows applicable to the C 170b O-300A

SA762GL seems to be approved for my 1948 C170 airframe.

Thanks, Cory

Cory,
STC SE693GL has been superseded by STC SE01943CH. Item 10 on the Approved Model List (AML) includes the C145-2 engine.

What is interesting to me is that the superceding STC does not mention it is such, the SE693GL is not “cancelled” (it is “surrendered”) which did not notify the owners who held it..(?)

However the C-145 series and the O-300 series are all on the same Type Certificate (E253)…which makes either STC applicable. IMO

Cory, the STC changed to accomodate modern auto fuels and you can obtain a copy of the new STC from EAA. (The old one was (supposedly) in the public domain but the new one requires purchase. I’d seriously doubt anyone would challenge/enforce a 170 using autogas, but to dot your i’s and cross your t’s…. )

PS: Don’t use ethanol (E10) or other ethanol fuels.
