I rec’d a call from a Member who had difficulty downloading the PDF attachment in the Originating Post by Host Steve Grimsley.

I had no difficulty downloading it at all …and then opening it. If anyone has any difficulty with downloading and viewing the PDF Registration Form…please post a msg HERE about it.

Thx.
George

I had no problem downloading and filling out the form but when I send to the printer I just get the form. Old operator error I suspect.

What kind of a turn-out do these conventions usually draw?

A very good turnout for the amount of members.
Get reservations early due to rooms getting filled.
I had no trouble downloading and printing the form.

Can’t believe it, no multi-day tour of Ben and Jerry’s on the program. Anyone up for an impromptu tour ?

Over the years, the turn out has been as high as 250 people, but that is probably a perfect storm type of deal, the right place the right time. On average pre-COVID about 120 people and 35-45 airplanes. Extreme east or west sites can swing the numbers, there are more 170s and members west than east. But we go where we have a willing convention host.

Last year with COVID still causing lots of problems and after a missed year because of it, we had as I recall 60 or so people and maybe 20 airplanes show for a wonderful time in Penn Yan NY.

HEADS UP! TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

If you intend to attend the convention June 23-29…YOU MUST MAKE YOUR HOTEL RESERVATION IMMEDIATELY…because in less than one week…the Hotel Rate WILL DOUBLE in price and Rooms MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE after next Monday, May 23.

MAKE YOUR ROOM RESERVATIONS (Remember, you can always cancel up to the day of your arrival if you change your mind…but otherwise the cost will double IF..big IF…rooms are still available….because the Hotel will no longer protect our requested number of rooms and there’s only a FEW LEFT.

Greetings, been a member since I bought the '52 170b in '99 - first convention. I'm planning to fly dawn patrol on Saturday from Woodstock, CT (64CT) - where do I go, Burlington or that nice little one further north? I was planning to stay the day and then fly home. Could I camp there, as at Oshkosh? Is there any CFI willing to give me a BFR? I keep getting them with instructors who don't know the plane. I really don't have time for social excursions but I'm looking forward to immersing myself in the observations and wisdom of other 170 owners. Advice? Via con Dios and happy landings.

That’s a great day to attend if you can only make ONE day… Sat will be a full day with plenty to see-and-do… I’m dubious it’ll be possible to find time to administer a Review on that day.
