Some of you have seen this elsewhere, but for those who haven’t:

Many thanks to New Zealand member Brad Raven for allowing me in the left seat of one of only four Cessna 170’s in New Zealand. With my wife Karen along in the back seat as official photographer we took off to the north from North Taranaki Aero Club (NZNF), worked our way around and over some scattered to broken clouds to about 7000’ feet counterclockwise around Mount Taranaki then down to Hawera(NZHA) where I managed to not embarrass myself while landing. There, we visited with Brad’s friend Les, who is well along on the restoration of a Tiger Moth, and keeps an Acrosport biplane he built, and his wife’s Bolkow Junior.

I’m way ahead of you George, I hope to get most of it knocked out on the 14-hour AKL-DFW leg today. :D

Also, he hasn’t made his mind up for sure yet, but we may see Brad at the Convention and at Oshkosh. 8)

Actually we’re still at the airport in Auckland, on the west side of the International Dateline. It’s 11:45am WEDNESDAY where I am. I figure it’s 4:45pm TUESDAY in Texas. On local clocks we’re going to arrive before we depart.
