Fuel selector mods

Hello all,

Just looked at 2 48’s with the fuel selectors moved. One was set up like an “A” model coming down the back of the doors and the selector coming up through the rear heat vent, the second had the valve on the firewall with the selector at the bottom of the panel. Do either of these changes provide a better result? And if so which one?
Thanks
Arthur Herndon

Arthur, the IPC shows the late position (serials 18574 and on) to be on the firewall…and lower serial numbers (18001-thru 18573) on the flap tunnel…as you noted. It was a change made by Cessna during production. When the A and B models came out, the flap tunnel position was used.
It’s not a “choice” to be made…it is what it is.

Could it be a ‘48 with modified fuel line routing to eliminate the requirement for a fuel pump?
