Crimp vs Solder for wire connections

Some folks simply do not believe that a properly crimped connection is better than a soldered connection. AC43.13-1B, Ch 11 addresses this, as did the idiot who wrote the Cessna 170 Electrical Systems Service Manual our Assoc’n issues.
While perusing another mx forum (marine) I came across an EXCELLENT article which addresses this subject quite thoroughly. If you read ALL the way thru… you will also see the author recognizes NASA’s guidelines on this subject. Of particular interest is the author’s demonstration of the differences between genuine quality connectors and cheap imitations.
The bottom line on this subject is to use quality crimping tools, quality Mil-Spec wire, and quality crimp-connectors. Do not solder wire connections because soldered connections actually detract from a crimped connection, introduce possible corrosion, and make the connection brittle and subject to breakage from vibration.
