My 170 will be parked for 6 months. Anything I should do?

My 170 will be parked in Phoenix, Arizona for about 6 month over the summer while we travel.

It currently has Philips 20w-50 Oil + Camguard in it, with 20 hours on the oil (has an oil filter)

Would it be ok to just leave it for 6 mo with that, or should I change to W100 + Camguard while it is not being used or some other preserving oil ?

Thanks!

Warm it up around the patch and do a fresh oil change if you’re picky….otherwise…Duct tape the exhausts, use cowling plugs or duct tape there to discourage birds, and on the wing leading edge vents. Store it indoors if possible.

I can’t remember the number, but Continental has a service bulletin describing how to prep an engine if it isn’t going to be flown for 30 days.

It looks like that Service Bulletin has been incorporated into Chapter 9-1 of the Standard Practice Maintenance Manual.
