Hi All -

My door lock core is now at the bottom of the Sea of Cortez and I need a new one. Only problem is I'm unable to find one from the usual sources.

Specifically, I'm looking for these parts:

0413323-1 "Lock Assembly - Door"
0511112-11 "Latch Assembly - Door"

Does anyone know of a good source for these? The plane is a 1955 170B.

Here is an image of the parts manual for the part I need (Item 35 in the image):

Thanks much,

Dennis

The door lock is common lock hardware available at most any locksmith.

A quick follow-up on this issue:

All of my local locksmiths failed to produce a compatible core, but I got in touch with Wentworth Aircraft, Inc and they pulled the whole lock mechanism of another '55 170 for $20. They were a pleasure to work with:

The Lock Assembly is standard lock hardware and most local locksmith shops have them in stock. Aircraft Spruce also sells them.

Is the Sea of Cortez the same body of water as the Gulf of California? (in between Baja California & Sonora)

Excellent book by the author of "Jaws"- (Peter Benchley)- "Girl of the Sea of Cortez"- about a young Mexican girl who befriended a large sting ray -
No, it's not what you think !
A good read-
