Need information/source on glider tow hitch for 170A with 180 hp and Scott Tailwheel.

Monte, you are not going to defile a great airplane and turn it into a work horse by putting a tow hook on it are you???? :lol:

You might look at the Web site I have included below. This group tows with an L19 and must have answered your question regarding a tow hook.

180 horse power? must not be Jim Yaiser's 170.

I own an LS3a sailplane and would only tow it. I would never turn the 170 into a general workhorse. Thanks for the advice.

i have just acquired a 170b with 180hp, 80 inch prop, horton stol and c-180 gear. did you ever tow with your 170?
i also would like to tow my glider a 2 seater with my 170

An Assn member I knew towed banners out of Renton Washington for years with a 180-horse B model, also a 180-horse 175 and a 150-150 taildragger. Musta worked OK. Don't know if he ever towed any gliders.
Around here, the preferred glider tugs are Super Cubs & Piper Pawnee's. I've seen in magazine's where BirdDogs are very popular too. They're getting pretty spendy these days, as are Supercubs, whereas I think the Pawnee's can be still be found pretty cheap.
