Nothing wrong with a Safety-Stop, but if the rail holes are in good shape & the seat pin goes way down into them (like bottomed out) you shouldn't need it. Also, the return spring on the seat adjuster handle (that lifts the pin) should be fairly strong, to hold the pin down in the hole.
The AD limits are not necesarily the last word on seat track holes & pins. My old 150 passed the AD limits but the seat would occasionally cut out on me. Luckily, a 150 seat doesn't slide back far enough to be a real danger.
The pins bottom out in my seat rail holes,the holes are in good shape, the return spring is beefy,and I always jiggle the seat fore & aft vigorously as part of my pre-flight & pre-landing checklist. No problem.
If your holes/pins/return springs/pin engagement are borderline, I would suggest replacing the parts in quuestion instead of going for a band-aid fix like the seat stops.
