I am looking for a source for interior placards. I have contacted Moody Aero-Graphics but they seem to just carry the generic ones. My originals are yellow on clear so that the panel color shows through.

The generic ones like those from Moody seem to be all that are out there. Some are still availabe from Cessna at the usual "bargain" prices
If you want lettering on clear background, you'll have to have it done custom. It really shouldn't be a big deal. In fact, I seem to recall a post here about someone who knew someone who did it. I know the guys that painted my 170 offered to do it for me as well. I would imagine any decent print shop could do it if you gave them a sample.

I think you can buy clear plastic sticky-back paper stock at a computer or office supply store. I've seen it for CD labels, anyway. If you can find some, experiment with printing your own clear labels. MS Word must have a font that matches closely, and you can make it almost any size you want.
Best Regards,

I bought a package of clear full sheet labels (8 1/2" x 11") from an office supply and just made them myself. Worked great. Just copy verbatim from the TCDS.

try Phil at
http://www.aerod-cals.com, I've gotten generic sets there and they look good.
they have sets for specific aircraft or they can do custom stuff like Moody.
or you can try one of those label machines, Brother p-touch or similar, we use them in our avionics shop sometimes. you can get different colors of tape and lettering

Thanks guys for the quick response, that's why I keep coming back here.
I'll try the clear stock approach. Can I just use a regular ink jet printer with regular ink?

Another option might be your local sign or graphics shop. Take in the text of the required placards (found in the TCDS, plus any STC's which require placards) and a sample of the style lettering you want. Should be no problem. Don't have any idea as to the cost. I had the local sign shop do a set of tailnumbers for me, plain black 3 inchers, I found out later that I coulda got them quite a bit cheaper from Spruce. Oh well.
What I did for placards was make xerox copies of the placards from the TCDS or the AFM (don't remember which) and scotch-taped them in place at the appropriate locations. Funky but cheap (kinda like me).
