The International Cessna 170 Association

I just acquired a 170 a few weeks ago. My nephew was flying it when the cowl latch popped loose and tore it up badly and now one side is in need of replacement. He contacted Univair, they don't make them anymore, nor does Cessna (he works there). Does anyone know where new cowl hoods may be located? Thanks!

P.S. The previous owner was a C-170 member and I will join now as well. This is a great website!

Check with the salvage outfits that advertise in TAP. I have dealt with Specialty in Oregon & Suirprise Valley in california. I assume you have an early (48-52) cowl.You have unfortunately found out firsthand why it is a good idea to safety the cowl latches with screws,dzus,cotter keys,or hitch pin clips.
