Flap Repair

It's annual time, and I am going to rebuild the flaps properly. I need to source two odd bits for the original 1948 ragwing. I welcome any pointers beyond the "list price" from the manufacturer.

#0520106 - Bracket Assembly
#0520120 - Clip, flap return spring

And for those folks who haven't taken a good look at the attach hardware for their flaps, I recommend investing in some good flap gust locks to keep them from getting beat up at the tie down.

Many 170 and 170A owners park their airplanes with the flaps fully deployed to prevent them from flapping in breezes, prop-blasts, helio-choppers, etc.

not sure about the ragwings but A models have a catch to prevent any motion of the flap when they're retracted. If the flap moves then the catch is broken (or the cables are misadjusted). This is not uncommon. Use of wing locks prevents it from breaking.
