Cabin noise and insulation

My '53 is just plain noisy! It is much noiser than our Arrow and that supprises me considering the Piper has only a single aluminum skin for the floor.

The only surface I have noticed in my cockit that is not insulated is the aft cover of the baggage compartment. The upper half behind the hat shelf is insulated. Would putting insulation on the back of this panel (the rear of the baggage compartment) make a significant difference? Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Yes, you'd get far less tailcone noise. Also most noise comes through the firewall. I used Supersoundproofing on my firewall then just glued on carpet over that. Google supersoundproofing for good info.
