Engine installation

I am installing a new 0300A and a pressure cowl on my 170A. I bought it as a project that was disassembled with no engine or cowl. I need a little help in the form of some detailed pictures of an engine compartment that shows routing and hold downs of wiring, lines, hoses, cables and baffling ect. Thanks for the help Greg

See the IPC. B model fig's 49 thru 57. A model Fig's 38 and 39.
Those illustrations along with perusal of the grommet locations indicated should pretty well fill in the blanks for you.

You don't have to look very far to find photos of the outside of a 170 but nobody seams to have photos of what keeps the old birds in the air. Greg

Greg,are you using the original top-hinging upper and lower cowlings for this pressure cowl installation? Or a later 170/172/175 cowling?

Where in AK are you? There are several 170's at Soldotna airport.

Corey, Almost every time I go to ANC I do the Merrill Fd driveby, haven't seen any 170's with the cowl removed. I hear that AK 170's are so dependable that you never have to work on them...... Greg

You have a point there... it's easy to find a 170 around here, but it's very rare to see one with it's cowl off. If you're ever down here (and it's above 20 degrees since I'm not in a hangar) you can help me remove my cowl and take all the pictures you want. Mine has a stock '53 cowl with Bartone exhaust.
