I will be in the process of re skinning all of my control surfaces and was wondering if someone knows of a good source for information on balancing for a 170A. Obviously the elevator and flaps are different then the B but are the rudder and ailerons the same?
Thanks for the help

call cessna and ask for service news letter SNL86-44, as well as NL83-8. The news letter snl86-44 says it supersedes nl83-8 however snl86-44 gives what weights to use for your flight controls but says to use the instructions contained in nl83-8. nick

Hi Kim,
Did you see the thread from a few weeks ago on this yet? Here's the link:

I haven't sent the SNL to George yet, but I will shortly. I can also fax it to you directly if you need it.

Actually, Kim,... the flaps on the A and B models are balanced exactly the same.

Thanks for the information, unfortunatly I called Cessna and ordered SNL 86-44 prior to reading your post Matt so I now also have a copy. I am also very willing to share it with anyone else who would like it via fax, mail or as an e-mail attachment.
